Here's a stat from my gas bill that sums up the results of being energy conscious:
"Average Daily Usage GJ"
Nov 07 - 0.28
Nov 08 - 0.18
That's a decrease of about 36%. I'll take it!!

Very good! Now you should try to adjust that for your local 'heating degree days' to allow for warmer/colder weather.
I'm trying for a more modest 10%--20% saving in gas use this year ( http://www.earth.org.uk/saving-electricity.html ) with all sorts of extra insulation, thermostatic radiator values, etc, etc (and shallower cooler baths for me!), but I expect to blow the energy budget for this month and the next few because of our newborn!
